Fr Bruce’s Chaplain’s Message:
Chaplin’s message: Brothers, "Be merciful as your heavenly Father is merciful." This sentence from the Gospel of the Monday of the 2nd Week of Lent reminds us of what should be the fruit of our Lenten discipline, of our increased prayer, fasting and almsgiving that we undertake during these 40 days. We need God to be merciful to us, and God is!! Mercy would be God's middle name! - (if God had a middle name). But being recipients of that mercy demands that we be merciful toward others. The Knights of Columbus help us with that. As a fraternal organization committed to service, it is a brotherhood that helps us overcome our individualism, to better the world we live in and build up God's kingdom. We are committed to works of mercy. Thanks to all who assist with the many projects our Council undertakes, and let us persevere in our Lenten journey towards Easter, when we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, and our share in it.
